Portland Pirate Festival & Guinness Book Record!

On Sunday, September 20th, 2009, the Portland Pirate Festival broke the short
time standing World Record for the "THE MOST PIRATES GATHERED IN ONE
PLACE" at Cathedral Park in Portland Oregon! 1651 was the count that
afternoon with 1670 the final signature count. Watch the 5m 30s clip that
was submitted to Guinness Book to certify the count.
The original count by the British was 1467 set in May and we had 1670
officially and a lot more that just weren't counted for various reasons!
Dark Wing Productions was the record attempt sponsor. In addition, Dennis
Gleason, the media producer, taped the event, provided announcement support
via television, virtual support and produced the official footage that was
submitted to Guinness.
Portland Pirate Festival '09 Highlights will be created for Dark Wing's Pirate
TV as a collection of TV shows that relate or contain to pirates or people that
play them.
See the Portland Pirate Festival founders, Shuhe Hawkins and Kate Larson, as
they appear as guests on Dark Wing Production's program "On The Fly TV"
with Dennis Gleason.
Also look forward to the short On The Fly TV show with the Sunday MC, Mark
