About Portland Teen Idol - The TV Show
In the same fashion and similar logistics, The PTI program takes on the same format as it's own idol,
American Idol, just it's for teenagers living in/around Portland and it's put on by the Portland Parks &
Recreation District in Oregon.
325 number of teens participate in express auditions to make it to the next round and the list of kids
going to the next step decrease. The second round eliminations took place on April 4-6th at the Matt
Dishman Community Center.
From there, 25 contestants made it to the semi finalist competition held on April 26th, 2008. Only 10
walk away from that event to compete for the number one spot that will be June 14th. 3 provide back up
singing and move up on the list should any of the top ten become unable to perform their duties.
What is Dark Wing Production's part? It's complicated. We are the official production company for the
Portland Teen Idol competition. We also provide event management support, coaching and volunteer
assistance where needed. We tape many performances including semi finals, finals and some of the
one off events (such as 5/31/08 at Rose Festival).
We also produced the TV Commercial for the Finals on June 14, 2008 at Benson High School. It
directs folks to go to www.ticketwest.com to get tickets or at the door.
Since it is important to the winners to get exposure, we will conducting mini performances and
interviews at the TV studio. Plus, some of the management staff, judges, MC and finalists, will be
offered to appear on the hit show "On The Fly TV" and some of the kids may also be contacted to
appear on the new show starting later this year "Talented Discussions".
